Throughout the month of September, the London Study Centre has been hard at work putting on orientation presentations and activities for all of our incoming students, helping prepare them for their time here in the UK. All in all, LSC has welcomed more than 200 students to England over nine separate orientation sessions for our eleven host institutions.
Our orientation activities included lively presentations on culture, safety, and academia in England, while providing students with the chance to get to know one another and their new surroundings. Some orientation groups enjoyed day trips to Greenwich, taking in the Painted Hall and Royal Observatory’s demarcation of the Prime Meridian, while others took walking tours of London’s most famous monuments, learning the history of Westminster Abbey and Trafalgar Square among others. Theatre on the West End and get-to-know-you dinners were also a part of the welcome programme.
While we still have one final group of students to welcome, we are excitedly gearing up for a term full of incredible events and new opportunities to further enrich our students’ study abroad experience. Stay tuned for more info!
