Scholarships for UCEAP Students in the UK & Ireland

Want to make the most of your UK & Ireland study abroad experience while saving some sterling in the process? There are two wonderful enrichment scholarships available for students currently participating in University of California Education Abroad Programme studying in the UK. Both scholarships, explained in detail below and on our Scholarships page, are sponsored by the UC Trust.

What is the UC Trust?

The UC Trust is a registered British charity that sponsors programs for UC Alumni and friends living in the UK and Europe. One aspect of their work is dedicated to fundraising for scholarships to support UCEAP students. They also help put on events such as the UC Summer Picnic. The scholarships provided through the UC Trust are exclusive to UCEAP students studying in England, Ireland and Scotland.

What kind of scholarships are available?

The Student Support Scholarship is designed to help students participate in scholarly research, academic meetings or conferences, or creative projects emerging from or in addition to their academic studies. Past recipients have used their funding towards various ends, including internships at robotics laboratories and participation in arts exhibitions.

UC Berkeley student Eviane Leidig received a grant to attend a global Model United Nations conference while studying at King’s College London

The Melanie Woiwode Memorial Scholarship rewards women for their participation in sport while abroad. The scholarship was created in memory of a dedicated sportswoman and aims to help young women from the University of California connect with a new culture in the UK through team activities.
