To add to the excitement of our recent trip to the Highlands, two competitions were held to give students the opportunity to win fun, Scottish-themed prizes!
Students were invited to post photos from the trip on Instagram using the UCEAP UK & Ireland programme-wide hashtag #ukiuceap. More than 75 photos were posted by students using the programme hashtag throughout the weekend, and on Sunday morning the UCEAP London & Edinbugh Study Centres staff selected three photos as the best of the bunch!
The three students who posted the photos shown above each received their very own pair of Highland Cow slippers to take home as a prize! You can view the rest of the competition entries by searching for the #ukiuceap hashtag on Instagram. UCEAP participants studying abroad in the UK & Ireland have shared more 530 photos from their time abroad by using the programme hashtag since it was created last September.
UCEAP London & Edinburgh Study Centre staff also came up with a brief trivia quiz for each day of the trip to give students two more chances to win their own souvenirs. Questions ranged from which Scottish city was the first in the world to have it’s own fire brigade (Edinburgh, of course!) to which British fashion designer created a collection inspired by the Culloden battlefield (none other than Alexander McQueen). Students paired up to try their hand at little-known Highlands facts, and two winners were crowned on each bus on both days of the trip!
