On the 11th of May, 2016 the London Study Centre hosted its annual California Day for students from British universities, where they could learn more about the UC campuses where they will be studying abroad in autumn.
UCEAP students studying abroad in England held informational sessions about their UCs for these Reciprocity Students, describing anything from the best study spots on campus to the must-see features of their California locations. California Day not only gave Reciprocity Students insight into what to expect next year, but also allowed them to meet a few of their future classmates -it’s always nice to see a familiar face when you’re somewhere new! In addition to these student-led discussions, a representative from the US Embassy gave a presentation about visas. The day concluded at a nearby pub, with free food and soft drinks, where Reciprocity and UCEAP students continued to mingle with each other as well as with UC alumni who were in attendance.
Almost one hundred students from across England came to London for this special event, as well as liaisons from University College London, the University of East Anglia, Queen Mary, University of London, and King’s College London. Thank you to everyone who attended and to the UCEAP students who participated for all of your hard work.
