On November 12th, the UCEAP Edinburgh and London Study Centres hosted the annual UK & Ireland Thanksgiving event. Over 200 UC students studying abroad in Scotland, Ireland, and England made their way to The Hub in Edinburgh for a delicious Thanksgiving meal and hours of dancing the night away.
The evening began with the students arriving at the beautiful venue around 7pm. The level of chatter was at an all-time high as the students reunited with their friends and began making new ones. Once they settled into their tables, the winners of the jumper design and Instagram competitions were announced.
Shortly after, the starter of the three-course meal was served. The menu consisted of a haggis bonbon for some Scottish flair, a traditional turkey dinner that was almost as good as the way mum makes it, and a decadent chocolate tart for dessert.
Once the food was happily tucked away, the tables were cleared so a ceilidh band could take the floor and guide our students through some traditional dances backed with fantastic, high-energy Celtic music.
All throughout the night students danced, made new friends, and took hundreds of photos with a photobooth that was available on the viewing gallery of the venue. It was a night to remember, and a great success thanks to everyone involved!
