The Melanie Woiwode Memorial Scholarship Fund is designed to support women students involved in sports as an extracurricular activity during their time studying abroad. As a sportswoman herself, Melanie Woiwode understood and championed the importance of participating in a team activity. Not only are sports an excellent way to stay active and healthy, but it also promotes a community atmosphere between each player as well as the relationship towards one’s school. As a foreign student immersed in a different country, joining a sports team while studying abroad is a perfect way to connect with the new culture.
Melanie was a vibrant young woman of grace, courage, and passion. The Melanie Woiwode Memorial Scholarship honors our remarkable friend, a dedicated sportswoman, with a scholarship in support of University of California female students studying in the UK who have an interest in sport.
